I'm the luckiest little orc rogue
So I'm up to my elbows in dirt digging away and I check my map to see what sites I uncovered. AND
One in Uldum!
I'm pleased.
Then i go to the nearest one, dig, and find out OMG another Uldum!
Next site, dig, and look to see were my other site is now, and i have THREE Uldum spots!
I really hope to get some rares here.
I need 2 more Rares and I will have my Professor Title!
So far I need one more rare for Troll and dwarf. Tor'vir is 5 more and i need 2 more for Nerubian. All the other rares I have found.
Technically I could do without the Nerubian stuff because those 2 items are just toys. The other places are actual usable BOAs.
But because I will want those little toys, I'll dig em up eventually, haha

If you have characters in my guild on Fizzcrank...

My guild has started to boot toons that have been inactive for more than 2 months.

If you have characters that have been inactive for 2 months or more, I will be booting them from the guild on March 1st.

I can't wait to do holiday achievements!
I had to rename my warrior. I don't know why. I got flagged, i guess maybe it wasn't a name?
Or maybe they thought Sheex is trying to Say "Sex?" ....erm. OK.
I just changed it. As per to my recent talkings of how I was saving the name "Javert" for a Mage and decided it didnt' do the name justice so i kept a lv 1 warrior that i was using for a banker.
I deleted the banker and gave the name to my 80.

Right now my achieves are bugged on the server, as in, i can't buy the special items for the holiday achieves.
It bugs me a smidgen. I mean, why is WoW not being as efficient as they were said to have been?
Oh well. todays' a new day =D
And a new title. <3
I love achieves!

Went questing with my night elf hunter Elynorra and was graciously and magnificently assisted by my sister's battle-tested and powerful nelf hunter (Level 80) Canziz.  One of the only two red quests in my quest log, this Elven Legends quest requested the adventurer to find the neglected remains of an old elf in Dire Maul's athenium or library. Canziz and her strong and well-focused pet Spindle escorted us through the ugly ogres on the outer walls of Dire Maul without issue, and I was very lucky to discover that she already possessed a crescent key that unlocked and opened the innermost doors of the ancient ruins.  I managed to get myself killed in the instance, once, and I learned thereby to stay well behind Canziz and Spindle in a fight, and to avoid the time-wasting penal trips between graveyard and instance portal.  Canziz the Patient, bless her hunter's heart, killed most of those Dire Maul sumo wrestler-dressed ogres in one or two shots; the two-headed blues and Level 60 elites and their bosses required a bit more firepower, but she and Spindle triumphed again and again.  Watching them was inspiring.

I'm pleased to report that I dinged since last Monday and I've leveled up from a 55 to a 58.  I think it's time to start finding quests that lead to Outland.  Sounds like I'll want to have a flyer before Cataclysm is released and rains havoc on all things known and familiar.

Pitfalls of Guild Creation
Not sure that we have been using a good strategy for recruiting in my guild. Although the original intent was sound, we are seeing more and more toons getting "the boot" because of inactivity (our guild has adopted a 2 months of inactivity and you are out policy, unless expressly excused by the Guild Master... and that would be me).

If you have a character on Fizzcrank, please make sure that you have logged in with that character if you want to remain a part of our guild... I'd really appreciate it. I usually "boot" toons on the 1st and 15th of the month, and although I haven't booted any on the 15th like I should have... I will be doing this on the weekend.

Our initial recruiting strategy was quite simple. We would recruit in the starting areas for the various races, and give a gift of 2 bags and 2 gold to characters. We would then ask then if they would like to join our guild, and if not the gift is theirs to keep. All we asked was that when they got that particular character to level 40, they do the same thing for some else.

We all (our officers) thought it was a great idea... but now I am not so sure. We are having quite a fall out of membership, and many of our initial recruits are gone due to inactivity (one of which was the player who created our guild banner).

So, on our average monthly recruiting we are gaining about 5 toons, and due to inactivity per month we are losing 7 toons. Although we have a few that are sticking with us, and I do thank them all for their loyalty... the guild is already going through the "stagnancy phase"... where the guild becomes a stale entity, and is not showing any growth.

I need to find some way to stop this trend, and right now I am at my wits end. I've worked hard to start the guild, pumped quite a bit of my main's gold into the guild, put a lot of stuff on hold (and a lot of missed opportunities because of it)... and I'm getting really frustrated. I have a really good friend that is part of the guild, who instead of asking me what I meant (or to elaborate) by a comment I posted in our guild forum, decided to cause a whole lot of drama by quitting the guild. He's since rejoined... but is no longer an Officer, and is being kept on a "short leash", as it were.

Now, I knew running a guild was going to be an uphill climb... but I am really getting frustrated. I'm doubting my initial concept, and am thinking about an entirely new direction for recruiting new members. We shall see.

For now though... I've been very disappointed as to the direction things are moving in. I'm feeling like maybe this guild is not going to go anywhere, mostly because of all the guilds that are out there... and so many that get lost in the shuffle.

I'm just feeling a little defeated right now... I need to find a new direction, and soon.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for HELLSCREAM!
My guy and I decided to get matching shirts because I'm into the idea of couples wearing matching shirts and we went with
[Unknown LJ tag]

There is the matching women's equivelent which was kind of hard because there are men's shirts that don't come in womens. :)
That shirt above is the women's shirt.

As soon as we get the shirts we are going to go someplace to eat wearing them :3
It's going to be cool :3
I can't wait <3

Thinking about a Re-spec... AGAIN!!!
Here the link to what I am thinking...

Possible Democogg respec on WoWArmory

I switched to Affliction not long ago, and although I like it... I'm really looking to give myself an edge in BGs, and this might help. I could dual spec I suppose, and make this a BG spec, using my pure Affliction spec for adventuring, but I'm not all that sure it would be worth it.

It's just something I am thinking about.

This is Democogg's profile.

Let me know what you think.

What a fun guild night... but a late one.
Last night was kind of a late night for me. It was a good night too.

About 11:30pm EST, a couple of the people in my guild asked me if I wanted to go on a random dungeon. The problem was my Rogue is about 5 levels below the others, and this is my highest level alt. I've been doing a lot of stuff with Democogg, and ignoring my alts for now.

Well, I decided I'd go, since this would be a good opportunity for "team building". We decided to not run a random, but go into Blackfathom Deeps instead, since I had quests to complete in their... and we would get to go as a group.

So, I ran to Darnassus, cleaned out some of my bags, and we met in Astranaar and made our way to meet up at Blackfathom Deeps with the others. This would be an "All Guildies" run of an instance... and me as the leader.

Our group comprised of Zipwood, Desala, Snerf, Terra and my rogue, Sylvarrias.

We got everyone set up on Ventrilo, and we headed out into the dungeon.

Desala is a Holy Paladin, an was actually a pretty solid healer, Zipwood was our "Bear Tank". Snerf is a Mage (I think he's spec'd Frost), Terra is an Elemental Shaman.

Desala was the only one not on Ventrilo, but she was in the same room as Zipwood (they are married in real life). I had a couple of close calls during the instance, since I was the lowest level... but all in all it was a good run. For me, I would have like to pickpockets a little more, and got to do a little more stealth stuff... but it was a really good run.

The guild is starting to gain some unity... and that is a good thing. It was a lot of fun, to actually get to run with my guildies. We had a lot of fun together. After the run, Zipwood and Desala had to sign off for the night... and I pretty much should have even before we started, but oh well... it was worth it to me to be able to run with my guild.

An all-guild run... now that's fun, and makes me happy that I started the guild. My "rogue skills" are still a little rusty, since I haven't played one in over 2 years, but it's coming back to me now.

I chatted with Snerf & Terra for a little while before signing off myself. I found out Terra lives in New Mexico, and the day before I found out Snerf is in Michigan . I signed off about 1:45am EST (and I have to work today), but you know... I actually feel pretty good right now. We'll see how the day goes.

For the first time in a while now... I feel pretty optimistic. Only problem is, I have to go to work, and the negativity there is sometimes crushing.

At least I have the night to look forward to... and hanging with the guildies. I cannot do this late night tonight... Monday, I have to be up at 5:30am EST to be to work for 7:30am EST. I'll need sleep.

Thinking about a Re-spec...
I am currently thinking about a Re-spec... and switching Democogg (my 80 Warlock) from Demonology to Affliction.

I'm wondering if this will be better for me in BGs, or if I should stick with Demonology. Destruction is okay, but I'm beginning to think, considering the majority of the abilities I use regularly get a lot stronger with Affliction spec, I'd lose my Demon Form... and I'd lose my Felguard.

Either way, I am thinking about it.

Woes of Equipment Failure.
My Logitech MX 518 Gaming Mouse died on me yesterday, so I had to but a new mouse.

I went to Best Buy because they have a far better selection than Target (which is where I work). I finally decided not to replace my original gaming mouse with another of the same model, I decided to try something new. I did look at the Steel Series World of Warcraft Gaming Mouse, but I decided that I was not going to pay $99.99 for features I just won't use. Besides, the mouse is actually too large for my hand.

What I decided on was a Razor Death Adder. Part of my problem with mice is that I need to find something large enough, that it won't cause me any significant problems with my Rheumatoid Arthritis. Too small, and I am in pain... a lot of pain. Too Large, and I can't grip it properly to be able to play games, surf the web, etc. So, switching from my original, to something new is risky... to say the very least.

Well, I am actually happy to say I am quite pleased. Just the right size, and the side button placement is actually better than my previous mouse. So, as I said I am quite happy with my choice. I'm not happy that I had to spend the money, but I am happy that the money I did have to spend, I feel was well spent.

So, add to that the fact that my lady's Video Card died, and I had to replace that with my old, back-up video card (which is still an upgrade)... but that also meant I had to replace the power supply as well, since her system barely had the power to run it, and had to get her a Sound Card as well (since the sound died as well on her system)... so my trip to Best Buy was far more expensive than I was planning for.

That's life, I guess.
